Cultural Programs at Shawnee
The Playwright Series
The artistic arm of The Shawnee Institute was formed in December of 1999 as a 501-C3 organization. Our mission statement is to provide diverse, quality artistic programs to the residents of the historic village of Shawnee; its neighbors and visitors. As a not for profit organization, the Institute has flourished in its endeavors creating the following original programs here at Shawnee.
Every year the Shawnee Playhouse presents its Original Playwright Series where any new playwright is encouraged to submit his/her original works! If you have a play that you would like to have read onstage, please visit the playhouse site for more information.
Community Concert Series
Shawnee Community Concert Series is held on Tuesday nights at 7pm, year around, (rain or shine) at The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort. The performances will run for approximately one hour and will take place at The River Sanctuary (pavilion) or in the lobby of the Inn (depending on season and weather). There is no admission fee but donations for the performers will be collected prior to intermission.
